The Lascon Storage Network is an online service dedicated to helping storage professionals effectively connect with one another. For this to be effective, you must supply some personal information about yourself.
Information Collection
Registration:
In order to use the Network you must first create an account on this web site. To create an account you are required to provide the following minimum contact information: name, email address, company name and type. You must also choose a password.
Profile Information:
Once a user, you may provide additional information in the Profile section describing You, Your Company and Your Experience. This additional data is entirely optional, but is necessary for you to get the best out of the Network facilities.
You have to option to decide what access is allowed to your profile. You do this by taking the Profile Settings option from the Edit Profile panel. The three options that can be protected are profile viewing, profile searching and profile commenting. By default everyone gets access to all options, but you can restrict access to your own requirement.
Note: third party search engines often cache search results. The Network does not warrant how third-party search engines will update their cache.
Children:
Children are not eligible to use our service and we insist that minors (under the age of 18) do not submit any personal information to us or use the service.
Legal Disclaimer:
It is possible that we may need to disclose personal information when required by law. We will disclose such information wherein we have a good-faith belief that it is necessary to comply with a court order, ongoing judicial proceeding, or other legal process served on our company or to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
Email communication from the Network to you:
The Network will communicate with you through email and notices posted on this Network. This will include up to two welcome emails that help inform new users about various features of the service. Please be aware that you will always receive certain emails from The Network related to the proper functioning of your account, such as email notices when another user in your network sends you an contact opportunity.
Communications Between Users:
In order to invite others to connect with you directly in The Network, you will enter their names and email addresses. This information will be used by The Network to send your invitation including a message that you write. The names and email addresses of people that you invite will be used only to send your invitation and reminders.
Security
No data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be totally secure. As a result, whilst we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information which you send to us, and you do so at your own risk. In order to secure your personal information, update access to your data on the Network is password-protected, and you are responsible for keeping that password secure.
Transferring your information abroadLascon Storage is an international site and data held therein is accessed from several countries. If European Union law applies to you, then by using the site you agree that your personal details can be accessed from non-EU countries.
Your Rights
UK users have certain rights under the Data Protection Act 1998. You have full access and control over all your personal data in the Network, but we will supply a copy of all personal information we have about you should you request it. We may charge you a fee for a copy of such information.
Accessing and Changing Your Account Information
You can review the personal information you provided us and make any desired changes to the information, or to the settings for your The Network account, at any time by logging in to your account on the The Network website and editing the information on your Profile page. You have the option to delete your account yourself, and if you take this option all your publicly viewable on-line data will be deleted (but it may persist in backup systems for some weeks).

The Network may update this privacy policy. In the event there are significant changes in the way we treat your personally identifiable information, we will display a notice on this site. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all information that we have about you and your account.
